Supporting Charities Throughout 2020

At LaneSystems, supporting local charities is one aspect of corporate social responsibility we’re extremely passionate about. 2020 has been a difficult year for many with charities seeing a decrease in donations. Mindful of this, our team has really stepped it up in terms of helping others.

But first, let’s reminisce;

LaneSystems Team

A little over 15 months ago the LaneSystems team were thrilled to be finalists in The North East 2019 Charity Awards. Privileged to have even been nominated it was wonderful to be even remotely recognised for giving something back. We thoroughly enjoyed a wonderful evening attending the awards dinner and it was a great feeling to keep hold of (especially had we known what was around the corner)!

Who do we support?

Over our time in business we have supported a number of local charities including Zoe’s Place. Providing palliative, respite and end of life care to babies and infants from birth to five, we truly couldn’t think of a more worthy cause. Due to a change in funding for respite care in 2019, Zoe’s Place had a fight on their hands to keep going. With £1.5 million required annually, we carried out various activities to raise funds. From saving 20 pence pieces in smarties tubes to Christmas car designs, we’ve continued working with the charity throughout 2020.

JPC Community Farm provides independent supported living, respite and short breaks alongside leisure and educational facilities from young adults with special needs. Partners in marriage and the charity, Paul and Julie Connaughton have dedicated their lives to this wonderful project and we wanted to help. With donations dropping due to the pandemic we were able to send across two PC’s for use at the farm. This gesture has saved the charity hundreds of pounds whilst giving their team online access.

We’ve worked with Citizens Advice Bureaus across the North East for many years. As with many of us, Stockton CAB’s team was required to work from home. Because this service is run by volunteers, funding is limited. We were able to ease the load by offering 7 I5 laptops volunteers who were able to continue offering their service.

Donating Our Time

In the world of IT Support it’s not just physical items and monetary donations that are well received. Armed with an amazing team of technicians we have been able to donate many hours of labour across seven of the charitable organisations we support. In terms of cost this equates to around £6,000.00 and we’re extremely pleased to offer this.

2020 has been an extremely tough year yet one eased a little through the help of others. We’re looking forward to 2021 and are ready and waiting to get involved with some additional charity work.
