Mark Shields — Director of Operations
Developing a passion for IT at an early age led Mark to strive for greater knowledge in the industry. Then, after gaining City and Guilds qualifications, a career path was chosen.
Mark continued to develop his IT skills and knowledge until he was accepted to do the Software Engineering course at the University of Durham, where he gained his BSc(Hons).
An initial placement whilst at university impressed the MD of LaneSystems Ltd so much that he was offered a job upon finishing university. In 2006, Mark gained his Microsoft Certified Professional accreditation, boosting his knowledge of all items IT.
Mark now finds himself as Operations Director of LaneSystems, managing the workload for the team of technicians, developing clients IT infrastructures and overall project management.
Through proactive server maintenance, Mark ensures IT systems are running at an optimal level, ensuring potential future problems are identified and prevented.
